about

This song was started on a train from Ljubljana, Slovenia, to Budapest, Hungary in January 2010, and finished in Budapest less than an hour before the recording session began. "Julija" is a famous Slovene muse, who inspired poet France Preseren. He was her teacher when she was young, and as she grew older he developed unrequited love for her. Pronounced "Yooliya", this is a love story with age limitations.

lyrics

Julija, wont you bury me,
down the hill from your first home.
I taught you the smallest things,
you taught me to live alone.

Julija, don't remember me,
as I was when I'd grown old.
Keep in youthful company,
keep your heart from growing cold.

When I was young, I lacked patience,
Now I'm older and I can't shake it.
You'd think I might want repayments,
for all the times that I have wasted.

Julija, do you not believe?
You played muse and helped my song.
Keep a copy by your bed,
play it soft when I am gone.
